God is moving all around the world—and through Servant Partners' 2026 internships, you can join in! This experiential mission opportunity invites people like you to explore a call to urban ministry by committing to life, training and discipleship in an urban missional community. Here are five reasons it might be right for you:

  1. Discern your call to ministry alongside urban marginalized communities. There’s no time like the present to follow God’s leading. This internship offers a unique opportunity to embody a practice of listening to God’s call, and witness God’s transformation in the inner-city. You’ll be equipped by experienced leaders through firsthand learning that develops the skills, character and spirituality needed to thrive in urban ministry.

  2. Learn ministry as being, not doing.

It’s said that, “Everybody wants a revolution, but nobody wants to do the dishes.” This internship teaches you to be a revolutionary that does the dishes by focusing on incarnation–the ministry of living and being with others. You’ll commit to living in community with a team and sharing your life with your neighbors in the same place that you serve. From this posture of presence, we can experience God’s transformation breaking forth.

  3. Be a part of a team.

Jesus sent his disciples out in community for mission, and our internship teams reflect that same missional model in the city. In a team, interns, often coming from a diversity of backgrounds and stories, bond and grow by living together, praying together, serving together, and learning to love and reconcile with one another.

  4. Receive formative discipleship for adult life.

Adult life can be tough, and strong discipleship can set you up well. We welcome everyone to the internship, but young adults in particular can benefit from formative discipleship as they enter adulthood. Through trusting relationships and mentorship, you’ll grow in obedience and maturity in Jesus. In the spirit of Jeremiah 29:7, you’ll discover that working for the city’s transformation also brings about your own.

  5. Try something new!

If you’ve wanted to move or travel but the change feels daunting on your own, our internships offer a supported way to explore a new place. You’ll live with like-minded roommates without the stress of having to search for them. Neighbors and staff mentors will show you the best local food spots and parks for exercise or fresh air. Lastly, you’ll already have a church community to step into with friends waiting to meet you!

Applications for the 2026–27 internship cohorts are open now. If you’re interested but unsure which site is right for you, or have any other questions, our internship staff would love to begin a  conversation about how God may be calling you to serve among the urban poor.
