RICHMOND

RICHMOND, VA, USA

Richmond, once the "Capital of the Confederacy," still struggles to free itself from its dark past. In many ways, it is a tale of two cities: a rapidly developing area with craft breweries, adventurous recreation, and hip restaurants, contrasted against the rest of Richmond, left behind with one of the largest concentrations of poverty on the East Coast.

Servant Partners concentrates its ministry efforts in the East End of Richmond, home to four large public housing communities. Our vision is centered around making disciples, particularly Men's Discipleship at this point in time. We desire to see men transformed by the power of the gospel and, in turn, transform their families, other men, and their community. We seek to witness the Lord "turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers." -Malachi 4:6.

The Discipleship House is our core program (in partnership with Urban Hope). Young men live together in Christian community where they build character, take ownership of their lives, and choose community over isolation. With an emphasis on personal goals in all dimensions of wellness (Spiritual, Physical, Social, Emotional, Mental, Financial, Vocational, Environmental), they move toward healthy independence and interdependence. We also have non-residents who participate in the Discipleship Program.

Our vision is to witness a community of men who thrive in their love of God, love of others, independence, and interdependence.
