Guide to Staff Application
Thank you for your interest in applying for a staff position with Servant Partners! Please print your completed form, sign the application form, attach a recent photo of yourself, and send to the Servant Partners office. We also ask that you e-mail your completed application to

2. Confidential Reference Forms: Please download the Applicant Reference Forms (also below), print the forms, complete the top portion of five confidential reference forms and give them to the appropriate people (note that the type of reference is noted at the top of each form) to complete and return to Servant Partners. Send the appropriate forms to the following or ask them to download the forms from this page:
  • The pastor and/or missions chairperson of your home or sending church;
  • Your current or most recent employer;
  • One close personal friend (not a relative);
  • A staff member from your Bible college or seminary (if any), or a staff member of a campus ministry (if any). If neither applies to you, please give your fourth reference to a second close personal friend who is not a relative.
  • Your physician/health care professional. Please fill in Part A of the form and then have your physician complete Part B. If you have had a physical examination within the last year, you do not need to have another one. Send the medical form to the doctor who performed the physical and ask him/her to complete it according to his/her records.

If possible, all of your references should have known you for two years. We request that all references be completed and sent directly to the Servant Partners office.

As soon as we receive all of the above information at the Servant Partners office, they will be reviewed by our Candidate Evaluation Team (CET). Please allow one to three weeks for a response to your application. You will be informed of their decision by mail. This is your provisional acceptance to Servant Partners and you will then begin the process for acceptance onto a Servant Partners Team.

If you have not already decided on a site, the CET will help you to determine the nature and length of your discernment process. You will also need to complete the following (more information regarding these items will be given in your provisional acceptance letter) prior to your acceptance onto a Servant Partners Team.
  • Staff Packet – This packet is required for legal and administrative purposes and is mandatory for all new staff candidates.
  • Fund Raising Training – This training is conducted periodically throughout the year, as well as on individual basis and is mandatory for all new staff candidates.
  • Psychological Evaluation – This evaluation is conducted through a partnership with Fuller Family & Psychological Services. The evaluation is used to help develop a realistic timetable for departure. The results of this evaluation are confidential and are reviewed only by the staff candidates, Interim Field Coordinator, and prospective Team Leaders.
  • GUTS Application – All staff are required to attend our Global Urban Training School. Ideally, you will go through this training immediately preceding your departure for the field.
  • Site Visit/Team Leader Interview – If you have not had substantial contact with the Team Leader of the team you hope to join, you will need to arrange a time to interview with your Team Leader, which may require you to visit the city/site.
After acceptance onto a team, your Team Leader and you will determine the necessary preparation and training (e.g. GUTS, language school, classes, etc.), budget, funding and ministry plan for your first term. The length of time required for preparations and fund raising depend upon your situation and the requirements of your specific site.

At Servant Partners, we're becoming a people who walk in the Spirit as ministers of reconciliation. We provide training for men and women who seek to live and minister among the poor. We also have roles in which seasoned leaders can thrive and apply themselves.

God is, we believe, reconciling all peoples to himself and to each other and that God has an intense concern for the poor. These convictions are based in Scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit.

We are willing to lose our lives for the sake of the gospel. We're motivated by the joy set before us in Christ Jesus.
