Urban Training Weekends
Are you interested in learning more about Servant Partners and holistic urban poor ministry? Periodically we offer Urban Ministry Training Weekends, which include worship and prayer, an inductive Bible study in Luke’s gospel, an introduction to Servant Partners, our values, approach, sites & teams, worldwide urbanization trends, and biblical teaching and discussion on God’s concern for the poor, justice, holistic church planting, community organizing, and transformation. Global Urban Training School (GUTS) 2007
The next Global Urban Training School will begin in Los Angeles September 22-30, and continue in Manila, Philippines, October 1-November 4.

The Global Urban Training School is a six-week intensive course in a two-thirds world urban poor context. The course is designed to prepare Servant Partners staff to join holistic church planting teams and minister among the urban poor. Participants will be exposed to models of thriving holistic churches and ministries in a squatter area, and will have an opportunity to spend time with a family in the slums for several days. Through intensive, interactive Bible study in the Gospel of Luke, we will provide the introductory theology and vision needed to participate on a holistic church planting team.

Urban leaders will teach on topics such as: Who are the poor?, the Kingdom of God, language learning, cross-cultural evangelism and church planting, urban spirituality, globalization, systemic injustice, community organizing, community development, and conflict resolution. We will share our values and strategy for holistic church planting—worship, witness, reconciliation, and transformation. The intensive nature of the community experience allows participants to form significant relationships with one another, to learn about teamwork, and to discern potential team configurations and site placements.

Internships
Servant Partners assists in the creation and development of new local churches and organizations. We partner with a network of communities of faith that serve their urban poor neighborhoods through Christian discipleship and community transformation.

Servant Partners provides internships for mature yet humble servants who will give a few years of their life to living among the poor. Such ministry demands sacrifice and even suffering, but in return you'll discover invaluable relationships, training, and experience. You may just find yourself and those around you radically changed and your knowledge of God reaching new depths.
