San Antonio, Texas - Director of Music and Arts

Email

Jul 27, 2017

Servant Partners has an immediate opening for a part-time Director of Music and Arts at our field site in San Antonio, Texas.

Our team planted a church, La Iglesia Luz en el Barrio, in the Eastside of San Antoio in 2015 with the goal of empowering and equipping our neighbors to become change agents in their community. Since then, we have grown from Sunday evening dinner gatherings to a weekly bilingual (Spanish/English) church service. Alongside our Sunday services together we have Spanish and English Bible studies that meet in neighbors’ homes, are partnering with the local elementary school to provide volunteer tutors in their afterschool program, and run a neighborhood sports program combining sports with mentorship. Through all of these structures and through our daily lives in the community we seek to spread the hope and love of Christ with our neighbors, and to empower them to become leaders both in church and community.

The Director of Music and Arts would grow our music and arts ministry through:

  • coordination of musical worship for Sunday services

  • training and discipling of new musicians and worship leaders,  including forming a new worship leadership team

  • bevelopment of a multi-ethnic/bilingual worship experience on Sundays.

  • creating and leading an arts ministry which includes all forms of art, and integrating this ministry into the Sunday service and other events.

  • working with senior staff team on integration of arts and worship into the discipleship process

The ideal candidate will be bilingual or proficient in Spanish, demonstrate spritual and emotional maturity, love God and have a heart for the poor, and be willing to relocate to an inner city neighborhood.
